Debatably Healthy Edible Cookie Dough

Okay, let’s be honest, we’ve all eaten raw cookie dough. For those of you who somehow have the self-control to not eat cookie dough, I guarantee you’ve had the urge. There’s something about cookie dough that is even better than a baked cookie. Here’s a recipe you can chow down on without risking salmonella. This technically makes two servings, but I won’t judge you if you eat it all yourself.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c flour or protein – enriched baking mix (I use FlapJacked Protein Pancake and Baking mix in “buttermilk”)
  • 1/4 cup organic brown sugar
  • 1 tsp artificial vanilla (let’s not get drunk off cookie dough today)
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 tbsp softened butter (to mix it up, use 1 tbsp of cream cheese)
  • 2 tbsp organic, unsweetened, unflavored almond milk
  • 1/3 cup organic chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Throw all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them.
  2. If the mixture is too dry, add more almond milk. If it’s too runny, add more flour or baking mix.
  3. Eat it

Why I love this recipe:

I love desserts and sweet things. This is a recipe I can make quickly and easily with ingredients I almost always have. Plus, it does give me a little energy boost from the protein. But, at the end of the day, it’s still a dessert and still allows me to indulge a little. As much as I would like to eat it every day, “natural” and “healthy” are not necessarily synonymous.
