Okay, before we get started, I’ll let you know my Twitter feed is an eclectic mesh of people I know personally, YouTubers, one CEO, and random actors from 80’s movies. My Twitter doesn’t have any rhyme or reason. I just follow people I find interesting. This list is going to be an odd one, but maybe someone else out there has similar taste and might enjoy this mix too. Grab a cup of tea and let’s get started!
- Ralph Macchio: I told you it was an odd mix. Let me explain! I had a huge crush on Ralph as a child after seeing him in The Karate Kid. I looked him up on Twitter after seeing him in the YouTube Red series, “Kobra Kai,” which is a fantastic spin off of The Karate Kid. I appreciate that he promotes his current work, but also posts things for fans of his older work.
- Shayne Topp: I remember Shayne from the Disney Channel show, “So Random,” and now know him as a character on “The Goldbergs” and as a regular on the possibly defunct YouTube channel, “Smosh.” He mostly posts dumb jokes that I would describe as slightly evolved dad jokes. I always have a reaction to his Tweets, whether that be laughter or an eye roll.
- Damien Haas: Damien Haas was also on “So Random” and was later on the YouTube channel “Smosh Games.” He also does some amazing voice acting. I personally love his Twitter because he is hilarious. He has a penchant for nerdy humor but also knows how to make observational jokes that nearly everyone can identify with. I am always entertained by his Tweets.
- John Legere: I believe the easiest way to explain who John is and why I follow him can be best summed-up in his Twitter bio. “Magenta-wearing, customer-loving @TMobile USA CEO focused on ending wireless pain points & scaring our competitors! Also, #IamBatman.” Please check out his Twitter. It’s entertaining and a wonderful example of modern advertising and company management.
- Phil Lester: Known as Amazing Phil on YouTube, Phil has been gaining followers on various platforms since 2006. He started his Twitter account in 2008 and has amassed over 7.4 million Twitter followers. Since his well-established career is mostly focused on social media, he has a clear, unique style in his work. Currently, he is trying to solve a mystery regarding a childhood friend of his brother, named Russell Sprout. Phil also often replies multiple times to fans’ comments on his Tweets, which many people don’t do.
- The Washington Post: It’s important to have a few news outlets on your Twitter feed. The Washington Post is well-established and seems to cover major events pretty well.
- The New York Times: See reasoning for number 6.
- Darcie: My zany friend Darcie is hard to explain in one sentence. She sees and interacts with the world in a way that constantly amazes, confuses, and amuses me. In a recent Tweet, she shared that her computer would only let her watch a game in Spanish, so she watched it on mute while also listening to it on the radio. I could go on and on about her. Trust me on this one, go ahead and follow her.
- Karl Yeutter: Yes, I am putting my dad on this list. He works in HR for T-Mobile and cares deeply about his job. Most of his posts are about how to be a good team member or team leader. There are some inspirational quotes and stories thrown in there too.
- Colleen Ballinger: Colleen is another YouTuber, famous for playing the character, Miranda Sings. Her Twitter has been dominated by her pregnancy and now her baby recently and I don’t mind at all. She shares funny, sad, happy, and painful experiences as a new mother. She isn’t afraid to be herself.
